I Spit On Your Grave Remake 2010

No idea why anyone would want to remake this - the original is a brutal movie that I will never watch again. While it's good watching her get her vengeance I found the rape scenes to be unbearable and can't imagine why anyone would think it was suitable material to put us cinema-goers through again.

I'm a big fan of horror movies but I'll be giving this remake a wide berth.

To be honest, I didn't think the rape scene was quite as harsh as it could have been. While it was still tough, in my opinion the similar scene in the remake of The Last House on the Left was a lot more affecting.

Both films did little for me. Glad this is getting a remake - however, following in the footsteps of the original:

This work was cut. The cut(s) were Compulsory. To obtain this category cuts of 0m 43s were required. Details of cuts below may contain spoilers of plot details. Show details »

Company was required to make a total of seventeen cuts during three separate scenes of sexual violence in order to remove potentially harmful material (in this case, shots of nudity that tend to eroticise sexual violence and shots of humiliation that tend to endorse sexual violence by encouraging viewer complicity in sexual humiliation and rape). Cuts made in accordance with BBFC Guidelines and policy.

Mind you, 43 seconds isn't bad compared to the whopping 7 minutes the original had taken out of it. I'll be on the lookout for an uncut version through domestic eBay.

EDIT: trailer looks rubbish though.

Considering the original film was one of the very worst films I have ever had the misfortune to watch, I can only assume the remake (which I believe is a remake and not a retelling) will be just as dire.

I watched the remake the other day and i have to say its not that great but it is quite gory in places...i wont spoil it but some of the stuff she does to them is quite shocking....the rape scene of the girl isnt all that graphic tbh but its her screaming that makes you cringe.

Its a decent enough flick but nothing great...i know this sounds bad but the girl does have a decent arse on her:p.

The rape scene from TLHOTL remake got to me much more...mainly because I got the feeling the girl in that was a virgin and a lot more was being taken away from her. Not to make light of the rape scene in ISOYG remake, as it is pretty harrowing.

The revenge scenes are excellent...they fit each attacker perfectly and I really was satisified watching them all get what's coming to them, especially the last guy.

Also, the guy who plays the sheriff is also in a low budget movie called Blood Creek which I highly suggest any horror buffs give a watch, he is equally as twisted in that movie.

Andrew Howard. He always manages to play such an awesome bad guy, especially in Blood Creek. The guy was a powerhouse in that film.

He's also good in Adam Mason's other flick The Devil's Chair, and about the only thing worth watching in Tammi Sutton's Isle of Dogs.

According to who?

I'd imagine most people that have watched it. It really is not a very good film.

I'd still say the original was better, but these are films from a generation ago when there was less 'glossing over' the subject. It still never meant the original was that good though - too many people (myself included in the past) had a recolection that these were decent films, but let's be honest they weren't really - they were made for shock value (sush as Last House On The Left as well, as well as countless others).

The originals are still in my collection, but I'd never say they were good films at all.
