This is my first build and i have no idea where to start and what to get. My aim as said in title is a gaming PC however my budget is around £500 will push it to £600's if it really proves to be worth it.
I don't really know what else to put. I'm abit of a MMORPG nut so looking to be able to experience games such as WoW and Rift at there best, i also play call of duty blops however my current PC cant handle it and so I've had to put that on pause for the moment.
Games I'm looking forward to getting would be Bulletstorm.
I will also be lookin to upgrade it in the future rather than getting a new pc.
I am only looking into the Tower, screen mouse etc im happy with right now.

Any help is greatly appreciated

do you want just a tower unit? operating system? etc

A comparison between the two above graphic cards - http://www.anandtech.com/bench/Product/295?vs=293

everything is currently in stock, and the ram and 6950 gpu are on special offer today.

Thanks for the two quick replies stulid. I am just looking for the tower but from what i can see you guessed that. As im looking into upgrading in the future where are the weak points in this build.

only one weak point really.

The H67 chipset motherboard doesnt do overclocking, so if you ever upgraded to a "K" variant cpu it would be wasted.

the K cpus differ from the non k ones by having an unlocked multiplier and a stronger built in gpu, but your using a add in card anyway.

the 6950 in the second build can be flashed to turn it in to a 6970 card - http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showthread.php?t=18221844

The psu is fine for any single graphics card, sli/crossfire is no good(except low power cards such as two 5770 in crossfire), but the motherboard only supports single graphics cards anyway.

This except for the mobo which is a H series and has integrated graphics and cant be OC most likely, get this mobo instead:

Only £15 difference

he can still OC to within the turbo so he would get 3.4Ghz for the price of 3.1GHZ

only when one core is being used, turboboost is automatic.

its upto 3.4ghz.

http://www.bit-tech.net/hardware/cpus/2011/01/03/intel-sandy-bridge-review/14

The Core i5-2400 is a nominally 3.1GHz CPU that can boost up to 3.4GHz if only one core is in use – this rarely occurs, as Windows shuffles even single-threaded applications from one core to another to keep a multi-core CPU responsive

GPU: http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=BG-120-OK&groupid=595&catid=683&subcat=

Then the rest of Stulids build.
Allthough the GPU is worse it will stay play all the latest games and when you upgrade in the future will most likely be the first thing you do change.

This motherboard and Processor will allow you to overclock easily, Theres no real point in doing it straight away but when in the future it begins to fall behind youl be able to overclock it so it should last longer than a non k chip and a H67 board.
