PANASONIC VIERA TX-P50VT20B

this years panasonic neoPDP plasmas have a bug that makes them unable to display a 50hz signal propely and also have bad posterization,Lg plasmas have not as good blacks and also have line bleed,samsung plasmas have rather bad IR and bad buzzing.
 
If you can still get hold of the 50vt20 its an awesome telly, the plasma last year, but its been discontinued so its hard to get hold of, if you read the negatives tellys get you'll never buy one.
 
does it have to be 3D,plasma is still far better than LCD/LED,i have the LG PX990 plasma which is a great tv and the best bang for buck but has line bleed which i can put up with.i couldnt put up with the posterization and 50hz problem of the panasonics and the buzz on the sammy did my head in.my friend has a led sammy 8000 which is a nice tv but the motion blur is shocking and the picture looks very false.the only tv i could suggest is a pioneer LX5090 or a KRP but your looking around the £2000 mark for one
and if you want 3D wait till march till all the new tvs come out and fix some of the problems i have pointed out

Wow! I'd never have guessed! I bought one of these sets last May after looking around for 18 months and could not be happier with my purchase. I think its actually most impressive with SD which is excellent. I can't fault its HD performance and like having 3D as an option. I even think the audio is acceptable as I'm stll using its built in speakers.!
 
some people cant see the postrisation so if you cant see/havnt noticed it dont go looking for it because it will annoy the hell out of you once you do see it(panny plasmas have been shocking since the P50PZ85 which was there best tv,the 2009 models had the dredded MLL rises which killed the blacks after 1000 hrs and the 2010 have the 50hz bug/posterization

I guess I'm lucky then cos I can't see it!
 
have a play with the new vierra cast system if you can. Interested to see how they are fairing with catching up with Sony + Samsung.

I will do, hopefully they have improved things as tbh, its pretty much useless compared to samsung/sony stuff, another gripe, is the adverts on the freeview guides, so many people are starting to complain now.
 
Very happy with my S20 (don't have a bright lounge), and I don't have issues with posterization luckily.

As said, all manufacturers have their own niggles, try to find out which will annoy you the least.
