I was browsing XDA via the Android app today and wondered if there was any reason why one couldn't be made for these forums.

Is there something required to be installed on the site in order to make an app such as the XDA one to work like it does, im sure there would be a fair demand for such an app due to the popularity of these forums.

I find it much easier to navigate the forums using the XDA app than view it via the browser, much less scrolling around and zooming in and out etc.

Yes, it's quite possible.

I'm actually quite surprised vBulletin haven't released the above for implementation with your own forum, or at least released some sort of mod or smart phone optimized theme.

There must be some smart phoned optimized themes out there, but it whether the admins are willing to implement one!

AVForums have just gone live with their own app as mentioned in the Essential Android Apps thread, I think this one should be given a bump to try and drum up support for an OcUK app.

So....bump!

We don't need our own app (though it would be nice!), tapatalk support would suffice... having used it with samdroid and xda, I so see the point of it... it's so much smoother than using your browser!!

I'd back this idea all the way!

I could possibly make one for ocuk, wouldn't be too hard, I could do one for ios for sure and while I haven't done any coding with android I'm sure I could give it a go :)
