***WIN A $1000 CPU - OcUK Competition!***

Once images are submitted to Facetardbook, you all know they then have the Copyright on such images right? You give ownership up when you submit. It's in their Terms and Conditions. Probably the same with Twitter. I'm not sure how things would work out with such a Competition.

Clever marketing TBH ... this kind of money wouldn't even get you a page in a decent national mag. I've got to say it's actually quite a good angle, a lot of companies are looking at ways to utilise FB and twitter to maximise PR.

Side note, though, why are we talking in $$$ ??

Sounds better than "Win a £600 CPU!". Weird one none the less.

Still, a free £600 processor is quite good for what they are asking. And runner up prizes.

I maybe would, but I don't like twitter. Or more to say I don't really want to go anywhere near it. I take it this is the new marketing strategy?

"No purchase necessary; write to (Overclockers UK - 4 Axis - Millennium Way - High Carr Business Park - Newcastle-under-Lyme - Staffordshire - ST5 7UF) "

How does that work in a photo competition?

http://www.facebook.com/promotions_guidelines.php

Below we have provided a few examples to help you understand how to apply the Promotions Guidelines:

You cannot: Condition entry in the promotion upon a user providing content on Facebook, such as posting on a Wall of a Page, uploading a photo, or posting a status update.

You cannot: Instruct people (in the rules or elsewhere) to sign up for a Facebook account before they enter the promotion.

Comments?

The promotion is not administered through facebook arguably.

Actually not arguably, in no way is it administered through facebook.
