Evenin' all...

Do higher oc's require tinkering for RAM performance and stability? I.e. slightly higher volts and VCCIO.

I would assume not, considering the BLCK is fixed at 100.

Four sticks of:

Manually set to 1.5v, 8-8-8-24 2T as per spec.

The reason: currently clocked at 4.4Ghz, with 1.315v under load. Rock solid. This system is unstable with 4.5Ghz, even with 1.35v.

I'm not really fussed about the 100Mhz difference, just curious; limited chip, or user error? :)

LLC U.high, VRAM 350, HT on, SpeedStep and all that jazz on etc.

I'm watching this thread.....I'm using a 2500k @ 4.4Ghz/1.27v idle/1.31v load.

2 hours Prime95 stable.

4.5Ghz hasn't worked stable at the voltage I've tried.

PLL Overvolt seems to be a limiting factor when getting over 4.4-4.6GHz (depending on chip).

Try enabling it, and starting again.

I'd be curious to see what impact four sticks has, though, as I've got another two 2GB sticks on their way tomorrow.

4GB (2x2GB)

Got so much testing to do, and so little time!!!! :D

:D

I've tried with it both enabled and disabled; doesn't seem to make a difference. I might try with just two sticks if I get the time.

FWIW, I needed 1.37v for 100% stability at 4.6GHz.

In what way is it unstable, btw? Do you have SP1/Idle bluescreen hotfix installed?

Not even heard of that! I have had a couple of random idle BSODs while testing higher frequencies. Will install.

Prime95 instability (it was run it pretty much as soon as W7 booted).

No, not using SP1. Should I be? :)

Thank you for the help.
