Could anyone tell me the name(s) of the best budget socket 775 coolers (for a Q6600) ? I'm thinking of £10-17 budget here or so...hoping to oc to about 3.6 with a bit of luck.

Are there any that really stand out?

Any and all help appreciated!

Ah! is it not a nightmare to fit? sorry i also forgot to put that on my list of criteria :)

Nope, the rev1 was a right git with that stupid push pin system; this one has a revised fitting mechanism which made it about 10,000,000 times easier ;). You will need little screwdriver though.

Just to give you an ideaof temps mine are about 18-20 idle, 30 ish in game and 55ish under Prime load with my overclock ;).

Exactly, amazing for £20 tbh.

I do have quite a cold room so the ambient temps are quite low and an Antec 900 which is pretty good for cooling, but still, for £20 you really can't do better.

Realtemp and coretemp, both say the same thing. Like I said though, I have hella low ambiant temps ;).

Quite impressed with my budget cooler, has 4 direct touch heatpipes but only a 92mm fan but I idle @ 30 - 34 Celcius depending on room temp, and max temp I've seen with Intel Burn Test was 48 Celcius. That's also running the fan on level 7 in the BIOS as apposed to level 9 which is max speed and my cpu is @ 1.45v too.

More importantly for me, it only cost me £12 brand new off the known auction site.
