Hey all,
posted this the big Desire thread but might of got over looked because of the pace of the thread.
So i thought i'd post a new thread regarding the issue i'm having and update it when i hear back from HTC
OK here's my posts that did get posted in reply to my post from the other thread.
As it stands currently the phone is with HTC, any ideas if they will try a fix the issue (If so how) or just replace the phone?
Thanks
James

Hi,
Anyone had a problem with the Desire switching off and getting stuck in a boot loop? it seems to happen when i use the Mobile network connection
Having to return mine to HTC and would like to see if it's a common problem, a quick look around the net does show other people having the same problem.
Or another question would be has anyone had a repair done through HTC?
Thanks
James
not had that issues myself, i hear HTC repairs are fairly quick - 2 weeks
Mine's away as we speak with pretty much this issue (the phone is only 7/8 months old). Doesnt always get stuck on a boot loop, but anything demanding whilst the phone was plugged in and sooner or later...reboot, sometimes getting stuck at that point (and you'd feel it getting pretty toasty)
Hopefully it won't take too long as you don't realise how much you use something 'til it's gone!
On the plus side, according to CPW's repair scheme, if it goes away and isn't fixed and does it again within 30 days, new phone time.
I'm with Orange so not sure how a reoccurring problem will turn out? Mines about 10 months old. Are you going through CPW then or direct with HTC?
Hopefully it will get replaced this time around, lol.

I'm Orange too but got it through CPW rather than directly from Orange. Orange basically just didn't care when I rang them - gave me a fault code but said speak to HTC; I could buy a replacement through them but it'd cost about £175. *as if Im going to pay that under warranty!*.
I'm doing it through CPW rather than HTC direct right now,as UK law states it's thier job to deal with it within the warranty period (and thier own policy states if a phone comes back with a fault within 30 days of a repair they'll replace it). Not to mention CPW repairs are through HTC anyway, as they don't/can't fix them themselves.
If its still not working, I'll be pushing the point on this, and requesting a replacement to another decent phone without this known issue, as I've had multiple units already with different faults. Like the phone but as I've got another 18 months of contract I CBA to deal with a failure every few months!
I expect they'll probably replace the mainboard, like most others. (And knowing my luck, the Amoled screen with an SLCD)
As it stands currently the phone is with HTC, any ideas if they will try a fix the issue (If so how) or just replace the phone?
Thanks
James
