Eating Sausages...

Urgh, reminds me of my housemate who used to chow down on raw black pudding like it was a bloody pepperami, would jsut peel the cover back and munch away.

I can only imagine how grim it must taste.

Its not actually raw though, if it holds its shape out of the wrapping its already been boiled.

Trichinosis, also called trichinellosis (TRICK-a-NELL-o-sis), is caused by eating raw or undercooked pork and wild game products infected with the larvae of a species of worm called Trichinella. Infection occurs worldwide, but is most common in areas where raw or undercooked pork, such as ham or sausage, is eaten.

It is very rare in the western world now.

As a kid I remember eating raw sausages (I've tried to find a way to write that without it being open to abuse, but alas I have failed). Wouldn't dream of it now, mind, but I always remember them being a lovely snack at the time.
