My Golf - Update thread

In all honesty my original thoughts were 25 rear, 15 front. There's no way that'll happen without some brutal arch surgery though :D

Sounds nice in the vids, looks a very hard ride from the vids judging by the shaking and the rattling, though I guess the camera being mounted on the cage won't help matters? Guess its more sset up for track work than B roads?

It's noisy and rattly because it's semi-stripped, and you're correct that the camera being mounted to the cage makes it even more shaky/rattly. It is a hard ride, but but not so hard that it makes b-roads a chore, it's more compliant than the video suggests.

Coming along well mate, I quite like the wheels actually they suit it well :)
You had the carbs set up and rolling road'ed yet? Also any ideas on weight?

Haven't got it on the RR yet as my local place (SWiCT) are in the process of moving and the rollers aren't ready yet. Weight wise I got it on the weighbridge at work a couple of months back and IIRC it was 930kg.

Ah thats a decent weight! Will be great fun once the carbs are set up etc :D
Need to find a weighbridge to get mine on when I've finished ripping stuff out of it, standard mine is 1350kg but I must be around 1250~1270kg-ish now

Give me a shout when you want to weigh it, I'm sure the boys at work won't mind you sticking it on :)

Got any bum shots to show the stance?

A few pics I took today at a meet:

Looking at those pics I reckon I need to go a little lower at the front, dial in a bit of negative camber, and add ~8mm spacers.

Aye, the 15mm spacers that are currently on the rear will now be going on the front, and those 20mm spacers in the pic above will be going onto the rear. The Sikaflex is to bond the plastic arch extensions back on after rolling the arches.
