Fell in love with my 07 RX8 Nemesis but sadly its time to move to another car :( For those thinking about indulging in the Mazda, do it, but go in eyes wide open :D I have no regrets whatsoever regarding my 2 years with the RX8, its a fabulous car. The one series is a compromise but, Its gonna get remapped amongst other things to make it a wee bit better. Leather interior and audio system will be next. Could be fun :D Any advice from current owners appreciated!

Cheers

What 1 series did you get? Also what prompted the change out of curiosity?

Sorry guys, I bought a 118d SE 3 door in BLACK!!! :D I could not find a decent Msport that ticked all the boxes and was post facelift. What prompted the change is a new job and the fact that I do a LOT of travelling in the spring and summer months to mountain bike trails such as Glentress and go camping and climbing in the highlands. I spent a lot of money on fuel last year and I have no regrets but want to save a bit this year.

So you bought a 118d and now want to spend what will be silly money on a leather interior and audio system.

Why did you not put aside what will be 4 figures worth of aftermarket modification costs (which now have to also be declared to insurers) and find a suitable model in the first instance?

Dont forget his planned performance mods as well

Well possibly. I enjoy the process so I guess thats where the "value" is added.

Thats fair enough.

I recall back in the day, the joys of modding my old Escort turbo. :) - I think I'm somewhat past that now though. :o

So your thinking more along the lines of a custom leather interior as opposed to the OEM BMW jobbie, hence it having cloth seats?

(Is it new or used?)

Why is it fail if it's something he likes doing. All the poverty spec comments were just baiting to get a reaction.

If it's something he likes to do in his spare time as a hobby regardless of financial success then so what. I'm sure we all chuck money at the wall in our hobbies.

Because why the hell would you even bother for a 1 Series, an incredibly common car where there are plenty of better specced examples available.

The audio, fair enough but the leather seats? As if he couldn't find one already equppied with leather!
