I'm seriously considering trying this out. Has anyone had the guts to try this stuff on sandy bridge yet.

I'm looking at using a Noctua nh-d14 with it but, the Indigo Xtreme people advised me to cover this cooler to help it hit quicker and to prevent convection.

I'm concerned tho as this stuff is meant to hit 90 degrees to properly form, how will this kind of temp effect sandybridge processor as i see there max recommended temp is about 72 degrees if i remember correctly.

anyone pushed there i7 or i5 to around the 90's yet without damage?

Regards,

Buzzin

Even at 32nm, it just isn't going to care if it hits 90 degrees briefly. Processors turn off when they get too hot, running them without a fan is no longer dangerous.

If you don't want to use the pad, look at liquid pro or IC Diamond24.

ok thanks for the advice. i've gone and done something completely different.

I've just snapped up a watercooling kit on offer from another site that was £95 delivered reduced from £245ish.

the contents of the watercooler consists of:

•1x Aqua Computer Cuplex HD - Sockel 1156 / 1366
•1x aqua computer Aquastream XT 12V Pump
•1x Shoggy sandwich V2 for pump isolation
•1x Innovatek AGB-O-Matic Resivoir
•1x 3 Pin Y Splitter Cable
•1x 3 Pin Power 60CM extension cable
•1x Innovatek outlet for Eheim 1046 / HPPS on 10/8mm
•4x Connection 1 / 4 inches on 10/8mm
•1x Hardware Labs Black ICE Radiator GTX-Lite 240
•1x Aqua Computer Double Ultra Protect 1 Litre Liquid Coolant
•1x Artic Silver 5 High Density Polysnthetic Silver Thermal Compound 3.5G
•2x PUR-Hose 10/8mm clear - 1m
•2x Yate Loon D12SL 120mm Blue LED Fan

i am still considering using indigo xtreme but, would i better sticking with this watercooling kit at £95 or cancelling and going with the noctua nh-d12?

thanks!

Why not use the Indego Xtreme pad under the water block? Can only help :) especially if the writeup I've just read (on a competitor's site so I can't link it unfortunately) is anything to go by, then it should be pretty effective! Might get one for my C2D and see how it goes :)

yes mate thats what i was thinking , according to indigo site it seems that the block would be compatible but i dont hold a great knowledge for watercooling. i assumed the watercooling kit i've ordered will give me better results that the noctua nh-d14?
