What's wrong with the stock Intel fan?

Yeap my Asus software isn't very good, Realtemp showing 21c on 2 cores and 37c on the others while Asus PC Probe 2 is saying 13c

If those reading are constantly at those sort of differences , 16 degrees , i would check the mounting of your cooler.

Looks like it not secured evenly.

It might have just been using just the 2 cores when you took the reading, try putting the cpu under load to see if all the core temps even out a bit.

Thanks I'll do that now :)

Edit: Just running OCCT now and they are at same heat 99% of the time

I think his pic speaks the truth. There isn't really anything wrong with Intel Stock coolers but for serious OCing they are ineffective and noisy. This is why aftermarket coolers are chosen.

I think I'm going to have to look for a stock cooler, hopefully I've still got one somewhere. I would have sworn they were very loud.

Theyre garbage, i only used it once. On an e6600, bought an arctic freezer, took that chip to 3.7ghz, switched to a q6600, The freezer took the quad to 3.4 ghz, after that it was up to a thermalright ultra extreme 120, q6600 at 3.8ghz, then a q9550 at 3.8ghz. Still used it on my current i7 at 4ghz for a while, only switched to a prolimatech super megahelims as i wanted to try one.
