considering a second 6950

thats good, thanks for the info, its also an asus card, with the extra long 3 year warranty! good for resale value!

damn this is a temptation, need to sell something!

i just must have a hot card, it hit 95C tonight while playing BC2 tonight im going to have to put it uner water

What games are you playing that you feel the need to buy another 6950.

I say this not as a pointed question but rather b/c i am curious myself (i am thinking of buying a 6950 for my March build, and didn't know if i'd need 2 cards in crossfire @1920x1080)

metro 2033, but i dont mind turning one game down, crysis as well at 2560, but i was thinking more of say crysis 2 and future games like these, i would say no for you at 1080p, but again, depends on future games

again, my main issue is not that do i dont i, but moreover if i go now, will i feel cheated as in a few months will they be much less.. i.e. will i be paying say £50 more right now [if they drop by £50] for a few extra fps in one game? when if i dont ill lose those few extra fps now but be £50 up over all .. hope that makes sense

Prices often go up and down for components.

Overall of course the price will drop in time but that could be said for anything you buy. If you have got the money spare and think you can make use of a 2nd card then I say go for it. I did, should be here in the next couple of hours! :)

The 6950 is a great card to crossfire as scaling can often be up to 100% extra performance. With the old cards I didn't bother as it wasn't good value to buy another one for a little more performance. That's not the case now though.

This is why I sold my 5870,.its barely worse than a 6950 but the cf is a lot better here, I feel like I'm gambling on whether the prices will tumble in the near future, obviously they will dall, just wondering if they will crash

Can't see prices falling by much more
All the new cards are out and the Market is settling
Just get it bought and stop wondering what's gonna happen to the prices

^ i guess its inevitable on a forum with overclock in the title to get comments like that :D lol,
i wonder if i get it ill use power tune to actually lower the TDP? as its blatantly not going to be needed yet at 100%

Damn u people.. lol

Ok if I do get this that's the ssd written off for a fair time lol and the new mouse and game pad, what can I sell? Lol

I'll make a new thread if I do get it, I still am a tad concerned about the distance between the cards

That's the view inside my case, looks like the 200mm fan will be blowing right between the 2 cards, ( the second card would go above the one in there )

It's a haf 922

Should be big enough surely ?

i also might drop the top hard drive out of the 4 to the spare slot in the pic, then the front fan should blow some more air to the gfx cards too

Balls to it, I'm ordering it, better that than a 6990 which will probably be underclocked
