I'm looking at buying an Audi A4, seen a 2006 2.0tdi SE 170 at a local garage. Could someone give me some advice on what to look out for, apparently it's had one owner with a full Audi service history ? :)

Boredom, I'd look out for that.

To be fair the one my wife ran was pretty much faultless (140bhp version) and was nice and quiet with a quality feel. Having said this that was about as far as the good bits went. The steering was awful, like a stick in blamange, the brakes over servoed but worse of all the ride was bone shaking - worse than my RS4 for context. S-Line trim she had came from the classic school of Audi sports. Remove all damping, feel and directness, replace with back braking skillz and numbness.

As a car to do lots of motorway miles in fine, outside of that I am sure a Mondeo would be a better bet and lots cheaper too.

I was warned the s-line had stiffer suspension and sportier looks but the SE had all the extras. This one has cruise control, climate control, sat nav, leather & heated seats plus all the usual electrical stuff
