Hi chaps.

I am filling in the forms for a replacement photocard driving license.

This is for two reasons. One is that I have moved. The other is to remove an endorsment.

A change of address is free. Endorsment removal is £20.00.

I heard that as I have both moved and am eligible for endosrment removal, I do not have to pay.

For the life of me I cannot find this anywhere on the DVLA website. I just don't want to send them £20.00 when I do not have to as they will bank it regardless.

Does anybody know?

Thanks.

Quick update.

Got it back today. Address changes and endorsments removed!

Cost = zero, plus I got the newer looking photocard which has a black and white picture instead of colour. This is good as I look less like a chump in it. :D

Glad to see that loophole is still open to abuse! :D

What's the rules regarding speeding points and insurance?
I know some may ask for 5year history.
Just that my 3points are clear after the 3years, but I know stay on for 4years.
After the 4years do I have to send my paper half in for them to remove them?

Sorry tad confused, and I know I don't make much sense.

Points are valid for 4 years.

The 3 years you are thinking of would be in relation to the totting up procedures for disqualification. It is only the court procedures relating to disqualifications under a totting up procedure(12 or more points within a three year period) that disregard the endorsements after the third year.

After 4 years the points would expire, and whenever a new licence is issued the expired endorsements would not be printed on the new one - be it for change of address (free if you have both parts of the old licence), replacing a lost licence (£20), photo renewal (£20) or just to remove points with no neccesary changes (£20) -Also declaring a relevant medical condition (free, with no extra cost if you choose to update the photo).

For insurance, if they ask for current endorsements you would declare any within the last 4 years (or 11 for certain drink or dangerous driving offences), if they give a time period follow that even if the points have expired from the licence (if they ask for 5 year history).
