Hello! I have a maximum of £1400 to spend, anything less is a bonus, this pc is PURELY for gaming, nothing else. I would obviously like it to be as future proof as possible.

Ive tried my best but probably made a few mistakes, what do you guys think to this build?

Thanks in advance, Alex

Unless you need the 3 year warranty on the CPU, change it for the OEM version as the retail version comes with a stock cooler which you obviously won't be using :)

Thanks a lot guys, got to love this forum!

With my budget of around £400 for the graphics card(s) is the 580 the one to go for without question?

It seems you are doubting that I am actually going to buy this pc?

I don't just want to throw money away for a couple more fps, If there are any savings to be made i'd appreciate it or any cards that are easily overclockable that give a close performance?

I assure you, I will be buying a pc for this budget from overclockers in the next couple of days.

Thats what she said :) lol

But your about right for that build i would change the 1tb for a tb drive as its about 20 pounds more for another 1 tb its defiantly worth it!! and the palit gtx 580 is 370 atms so buy that instead!!

To be quite honest the 580 is not a very good value card. For 270 quid you could get either a GTX570 or a 6970, both of which will overclock to 580 speeds for more than a hundred quid less. I would suggest the 6970 at this point, as the board in your spec supports crossfire, allowing another card to be added in future if you feel the need for any extra ooomph. If you were to spend a bit more, say £410 odd, you could get two 6950s which will decimate the 580.

I'd avoid the 580 like the plague at the moment. It has no direct competition which is why the prices are so high for what you get. This is virtually the definition of throwing money away for a few extra fps!
