Ive just got my 6950 today but Im not sure about these 2 benchmarks

My system
Intel [email protected]
Abit IP-35 Pro
HIS HD 6950 2GB
8GB Corsair PC2-6400
Corsair 620watt

I think crysis is about right but DiRT2 looks very low? Both games are maxed out with 4xaa and 1920x1200

Ah yeah, that could be the reason.........

Test Setup

CPU - Intel Core i7 920
RAM - 6GB (3x2GB) OCZ platinum DDR3 1333mhz
Motherboard - ASUS Rampage III Extreme
Power Supply - Enermax Revolution 85+ 850W
Hard Drive - OCZ Vertex 2E 120GB
Samsung F3 1TB

But its a huge huge diff in fps tho,,,,,,

Yea its your dual core letting you down. In dirt using the same settings as you with my 6870 and rig in my sig i get 74 average and 57 minimum. Not tested out crysis so i can't help you there.

What fps using fraps do you get in Test Drive Unlimited 2, I get about a constant 58 with or without vsync, all maxed out, 1920x1200 and 4xaa.

Have you tried unlocking your 6950?
Here is what i get in crysis but with an unlocked 6950>70, with a c2q6600 at 1920x1080:

Just a thought, 4 cores actually doing something in a game then, doesn't happen too often though.

I thought the cpu would be holding things back a bit, but dirt2 performance is way below, then how it should run on a 6950. Plus dirt2 on my 3870, ran super smooth with all settings set on high so it cant be that demanding surely? Im not a benchmark freak normally as I say to others, it dont really matter what the fps are,, as long as its smooth enough to play. But when you get something new, you want to make sure its performing as expected

Anyway 58fps is quite good apparently in test drive 2 with everything maxed out.

To be honest Im only disappointed with dirt2 as all the other games Ive checked seem tobe performing as they should be, give or take 2-5fps with my system holding things back

So with abit of luck my system will last another 1-2 yrs before games get below the 25-30fps mark again.

I'm downloading Dirt 2 from steam and will do a benchmark tomorrow for comparison.
