Link does not work as the listing has been removed.

But linking to eBay can be classed as a competitor.

Almost all of my Pc gear is second hand.

I think you will find that places like the MM here has some great stuff from genuine guys who simply want to have a fair return on their older parts because they either have, or want to upgrade and so the chances are, that the parts are going to be good.

On xbay, its often a stab in the dark. There are some honest people on there, but there are a lot of shifties too.

Worst time I had on Ebay was when I sold off my Toshiba HiFi.

At the time I truly thought that sellign on Ebay was a contract that I was not able to back down from, and I saw the same HiFi going twice, one was for £390 and the other was £460 and so I said to the wife that Id put mine on...

Mine was teh sme but mine also had a DVD Player, plus the Amp was the next steup up and it had optical inputs as well, so mine was clearly worth more.

It went for £40 and I have it down with £30 postage.

So, I got only £70 for it.

Worse was that it cost me £45 to post it because it was so heavy

Even more insulting is that the guy who bought it off me put it on there I think the day he had it, with a BIN of £600 and he sold it that day.

I was told that I could refuse to sell it but only after this.

Since then I have been very careful to word my sales.

You got ripped off right there sir.

Yes, but no too!

The thing is that the winner got lucky... VERY LUCKY and I got unlucky... VERY UNLUCKY

They jumped at a chance to make a few pennies ( Server thousand pennies mind you )

To be honest, Id have probably done the same.

The HiFi wasnt some crappy thing, it costs over £2500

And do you know whats even worse... I didnt need it anymore because we have a sony HiFi and then a couple of weeks later the Sony started to go iffy... The Volume control started to crackle, the Tuner started losing signal ( is that possibly on a digital tuner? ) and then teh CDs started to skip all in the space of a month or so.

We now have no HiFi at all.

We do have a JBL Thumping system on the TV and the wife used that for a while to listen to her junk, but while its a monster for Movies and effects, its dire for music.

Luckily my PC is half decent.
