Tax emigration question

ahhh okies. Heres a stupid question: can i continue to pay NIC and qualify for pension and such but be non-resident? ie live and then retire somewhere else but still draw the pension? (basically somewhere where the cost of living is better) Or do i need to retire IN the uk to get it?

Check the link I posted above, you can receive your SP abroad, what you get might differ based on the country though.

the pensions service said:
If you're planning to live abroad when you retire, you'll still be able to claim your State Pension. If you work and settle in another country before reaching State Pension age, you'll also be able to get your State Pension when you retire and claim it.

yeah its mainly EEU and countries that have agreements with UK so misses out some far east countries. Thanks for that. :)

There are 2 certainties in life, tax and death.

These tax rules are setup so you don't pay taxes in 2 countries at once etc.
I worked in the US for a year and claimed all my tax back, but officially I then had to pay UK tax. Luckily I had never worked in the UK so had no tax record. The money is in a savings account unitl such time as the UK gov demand the tax back, or I retire...

Congratulations. You just admitted to tax evasion on a public forum! If they find out you'll be hit with penalties and interest.
