As title :p I passed my isf certification on Saturday and my CEDIA EST2 certification just before that. :) Rather chuffed to say the least.

The isf is the governing body for professional video display calibrations and CEDIA is the home cinema equivalent of Corgi and Safe Gas.

Lol, next there'll be professional qualifications for loo roll installation.

Congratulations all the same :).

It's a bit more in-depth that just mounting a TV on the wall if that's what your implying. The last installing we completed was a 12 seat cinema with a value of £125,000.

Rofl @ dirtyjester's comment.

don't get me started on the topic of certificates... they are nothing more than wool to pull over ppl's eyes.

edit - don't get me wrong princey, you should be proud you have learnt someone elses knowledge on how to do that stuff, but the certicates aren't worth the paper they are printed on.

The age old adage applies I think... If you have nothing nice to say...

Congratulations Princey. Does this mean you can professionally calibrate displays?

hmm calibrate TV's I hear you say. Fancy a trip over to shrewsbury. come through birdgnorth - wouldnt be too bad ;) My Panny V10 could do with calibrating and I could do with the blacks been measured.

OP : what did they teach you with regards to the cost of HDMI cables vs their effectiveness ?

How many times, there is no difference in picture quality. Maybe on build quality as I've seen an expensive QED HDMI cable loose the gold metal connectors. This is why I tend to stick with the moulded plastic design found on the cheap ones :D

IMHO cheap > expensive

can you see a difference, I can and it's called the placebo effect :p
