Test Drive 2 has been released & is available to download on steam

My Word, the TDU2 Official forum is chock full of fanboys.

or.. it could be that you did not really understand the point of this game.. if you want all of those things.. go and drive a car in real life.. game is game.. no need to complicate it so much that you lose all the fun.

Means different things to different people.

For some people, in it's current state, the game is not as fun as it potentially could be.

Not to say it is not fun in its current form but could be much more so and I personally find some of the design choices to be odd, I am not a game designer though so what do I know.

And, (brace for flaming) are the physics good enough to drift with?

I'm only consider TDU2 because my xbox e74'd so I can't go on Forza any more, and TDU1 was what most of the drifters on Forza played before Forza 2 (if at all)

Does anyone else have trouble running this game, I am using the rig in my sig and still get stuttering even on low settings. I tried reinstalled the graphics drivers.

Nope. Not since i turned em to medium. Well i could max all but enviroment and keep that to medium and still have nice fps and no stuttering but very high doesnt give much of anything compared to medium so i just left em on that.

Ksanti, u can drift well enough in it i kinda did a lot when the pad was configured as default and the car span a lot all over which if u tried u could drift ok ish. Dont like sliding about tho so fixed the controls.

Well this is annoying I made a few mistakes so I restarted the game, now it seems when you win the ford mustang (pink) you cant sell it and are stuck with it :( Last time I didnt even recieve it. I want a new car and I only have the starter home and a full garage damn this game is annoying me more than I enjoy playing it.:(

I get good FPS (according to fraps 50+) but it seems to dip dramatically for a fraction of a second occasionally causing a stutter. No one else gets that?

It was made by a French company (I believe) who were on the verge of being bust/loss of publisher a year or so back (just before TDU2 got announced) so that explains the lack of progress to me :p

I'm still really enjoying the game for what it is and my expectations were TDU1.5 so it wasn't hard to beat that. I too don't understand some of the choices like why add the whole your on a TV show thing, I remember people complaining that TDU1 had no structure which TDU adds but then it removes so much more from the game. Even then the TV show/cutscenes are a huge half baked idea which looks like it needs at least another 5 months of planning and production. But again this is something I was expecting from Eden so not much loss for me :p

Just loving that Ohao is just as awesome as it was and actually had a upgrade! I was worried it would just be a unlock once you compete 70% of the game or so saying good jobs here you can travel to another island now which is 4x worse than Ibiza. But with the fixed roads and new buildings/challenges it's like meeting a old friend ^.^

I agree.

The game COULD be MUCH MUCH better but I think a lot of the issues are beyond "patching" and are flawed issues with the actual engine.

Game was developed by crack heads.

For example, the guy in charge of radio stations developed 2, got wasted and carried on doing something else.

I had a rant here:

i have to totally agree on this overhyped peice cr@p, upon reading the release in april 2010, i was looking forward to the fact they would implement a fueling system, this could be a place to refuel meet other people and their rides. Shame they didn't put this is in. They should have added nightclubs where you can dress up and meet other people ect.. give it that ibiza effect with all the nightlife. "so if you drink " you can get caught and have to re-do your licence. The AI policing system that makes me think they done a lazy job, As mentioned they could have had high spec vehicles patroling that actually looked like police vehicles and when you speed they would chase you. I hate the EMP stupid stupid stupid, takes the point out of having a police chase. The sounding of the vehicles doesn't sound that your in an expensive luxury car more like a fiat panda :(, and really they should have also added different moddifications bodykits, instead of just buying a vehicle and spraypaint so every vehicle looks the damn same. iv'e played the game twice and feel that there have been no significant improvements since tdu1. They need to learn from this and make TDU3 a lot more exciting game to play.

Am I the only person that loves bumping into other player's cars? =D

I had a full speed collision in my Lancia with someones expensive A1 car, I saw the car, a player name over it, and my immediate reaction was to turn into his lane and whack into it.

Bumper cars!!!
