very witty.

It's funny but AMD broke a lot of peoples hearts not so long ago with the whole Phenom L3 cache fiasco, instead of a replacement program for their customers they just gimped the performance of an already average CPU by about 15%.

AMD need to start doing their talking with benchmark results rather than humerous marketing stunts.

Very True,

AMD Can Laugh now, But Intel will be Laughing at AMD's Benchmarks.

Did AMD not replace Opteron CPUs affected by the bug?

For home users, anyone that didn't turn off the TLB bug fix would have to have been wrong in the head. The only annoyance was having to turn it off in Vista each time... (Bloody Microsoft).
Appreciate that it's only enthusiasts that would do this though, the Phenom with TLB fix on is, to put it bluntly, rubbish.
Chance of you experiencing the issue as a home user? Insanely small.

It's like the whole Sandy Bridge thing, too much crying for an issue that really isn't the end of the world.

Still, Valentine's digs by AMD... Glass houses. Stones. Don't throw them.

AMD really have some guts when they've been nothing other than absolute rubbish compared to intel for the last 3 generations of CPUs lol.

'lol' indeed :o

funnily enough they've gained market share over the past year or two though? but like you said absolute rubbish....not suitable for anything:rolleyes:

ha! sorry couldn't help myself! love the comments about AMD being 'rubbish' even though they offer pretty much best value for money in the current market, most affordable quad-core? check. most affordable (only affordable widely available) six-core processor? check. best mobile processor in its class (their APUs)? check. failing to understand how they are rubbish? thats like saying a Ford Focus is rubbish because its gets beat around a track by a Ferrari, obviously! but I bet Ford make tons more than Ferrari, so its irrelevant!

also a Phenom II X4/X6 are hardly 'rubbish' processors, especially at their price point, plus they have good motherboard support and overclock fairly well. gotta love the Intel Fanboys :D

They aren't the bestest in gamez grafs though, so you no nofing.
AMD are t3h sux0rz.

I once had a Phenom CPU and I cudnt even play SOlitare, soon as I got Intel, evrything worked good.

quite witty indeed. And while their amd's processors are imo, by no means rubbish, intel has been one step ahead of amd performance-wise for a good while.

Let's see whether that changes this year or if they are just gonna be laughed at on intel's christmas presents to cnet

I'm not falling for that. All talk, no show. That swipe at SandyBridge is a bit ironic, they haven't really capitalised on Intel's woes. Come on already!

Still, Valentine's digs by AMD... Glass houses. Stones. Don't throw them.

Now that would be funny if they get hit by similar problems rushing Bulldozer.

i think you must have had something seriously wrong with the pc there bud, my first 286 could play solitaire. running windows 3.1 lol

To dismiss their range as "absolute rubbish" in comparison to those products is a bit ill informed.

Price wise, they offer pretty decent competition.
I believe their Opteron range is not thought of as "rubbish" also.
If you take your eyes off the extreme high end, or how far you can overclock. You'll probably see that they aren't so bad at all.

Still... The whole world is a forum of enthusiasts, with custom builds, who need that little bit more on their 3dmark score, as a result. AMD ARE RIDICULOUS, CAN'T EVEN MAKE CPUS THAT ARE GOOD.

The Valentine's day gift thing is trolling of the highest magnitude by AMD. It can only backfire at some point.
