Assuming all the rumours are true i see it being like this.
Iphone nano - 2/3rds the size with last gen specs
Iphone 4S - Improved specs on the current phone. ( cpu , ram , camera )
Iphone 4 Pro - Aimed at business users with physical keyboard
I dont think all the new iphones will have a keyboard

I think it would be very difficult to implement in a stylish manner (and in a small thin form factor). However, this would open up their potential share of the market as most BB users don't like iphones as they don't get on with the touch screen. By implementing this they could potentially unlock that market.
I never thought of it but it might they might bring out a sub-version of the iPhone which would then mean every other year they would be updated.
Which way's that going to be introduced, then?
A) "Our software keyboard has problems, so here is an alternative."
or
B) "Some people are too stubborn to get used to our software keyboard, so we're compromising our design to appease them."

Nope , they will just say its aimed at the professional market. Do you think because they have a macbook pro range that they are saying there macbooks are rubbish and slow?

Yeah right. I'll eat my hat if this happens.
Except the PS phone has terrible laggy OS, the games dont run smooth, the handset has crap battery life and feels horrible to hold.
Unlike an Iphone 4.
As for a physical keyboard, it will turn me off the device completely tbh :|
They are no good for all but those with the smallest fingers, i can actually type quicker on the on-screen keyboard and it adds needless extra weight.
Pointless.
They are better for everyone except those with the largest of fingers.
I have small fingers and I hate the BB keyboard. I like the autocorrecting of the iPhone. Well... most of the time
Apple have a massive business user base with the iPhone/iPad...Most new qwerty devices are little more than 13mm thick, the 3G/3GS is 12.3mm to put that into perspective...

Apple have a massive user base including people who use them at work.
The iphone isn't targetted at business use at all. Some business users just happen to use them. Which suits apple just fine.
But theres no way apple are going to bring out a business smart phone with a physical keyboard. Steve jobs is the man who thinks the home button is one button too many on the iphone.
