I have raised a topic up before and didnt understand. whats the diffrence between agp and pci. im picking up my mates old pentium 4 3.4ghz 2gig ram fx5500 gc..
if its a agp whats the best graphics card i can get.
or vice versa? PCI ??
WHAT IS MY BEST OPTION WITH GRAPHICS CARDS??

KFA2 NVIDIA GeForce 9500GT PCI-E Graphics Card - 1GB
I WAS THINKING ABOUT THIS ONE ^^^^^^^^

Good idear?
thanks for looking!

Looking around I think it may be AGP, Download GPU-Z & CPU-Z these should hopefully show the details.

At the moment your best GPU if you are AGP would be look at something second hand like a ATI 19XX range which I believe were made in AGP versions.

my mate told me late tonight that my motherboard will take agp OR pci can this be ill try and get the motherboard details in a min thanks

Cheers, Yes, some manufacturers like Asrock made some boards which can take PCI-E or AGP.

urm its a p4 motherboard as its only tempory.
gigabyte ga-85q800 ULTRA ,
pentium 4 3.4Ghz 1TB
Does this take DDR? i prosume?

Watch out. There are several different slots on a mobo.

PCI-Express (x16, x4, x1 versions): new graphic cards
PCI : Standard interface for non graphic cards
AGP : Old graphic cards

My guess would be that your mobo takes AGP graphic cards and PCI cards (not PCI-Express graphic cards)
