Gaming PC £1100

Looking to get a new gaming pc in the next few weeks and was hoping for some advice on what to get. Will be using the pc solely for games and will probably want to over clock as well. I've already got a good idea on the components however I'm not quite sure on some of them. I've already got a 32" LCD (1920 x 1080) and a OCZ 600w psu. I've got a around £1100 to spend but can stretch for a little more if its worth it. Want to make it some what 'future proof' so I don't need to upgrade for a while at least.

Motherboard
Asus Rampage II Extreme £180
Seems to be quite a good board for OC'ing, but there is also the Asus Rampage III Gene for £194.

CPU
Intel i7 950 £234
Seems to be a really good cpu and can over clock quite high however there are those new i7 2500k.

GPU
ATI XFX Radeon 6970 2GB - £285
Was originally thinking of getting the XFX 5870 for £200 however it would appear that this card beats it in all tests, anyone know if the 6970 its definitely better and worth the extra £85?

RAM
Not really sure on this one, seems that a few over clockers go for the corsair dominator ram however for 3x2gb its £111 :confused:

HDD
Samsung Spin Point 2TB

Case
NZXT Phantom
What can I say.. I've never seen a case that comes close to looking as good as the Phantom.

Mouse
Razor Mamba

Keyboard
Alienware TactX

CPU Water cooler
Any ideas on which one?

Come up with the spec below, used the 2500k retail chip, can save a little by going oem.
Put the Ocuk GPU which you might be able to flash to 6970, just add the Keyboard and mouse.

Ideally you need dual channel memory and not triple channel with SB.

Thanks for the replies.
Don't mind spending the extra so long as it means I wont need to be upgrading any time soon. Are the SSD drives worth the money? Haven't researched them a lot myself mainly due to their price tag! Also no mention of the Rampage boards are they not worth the £50 extra?

Been using a SSD for a while now and over the moon with the performance for a BOOT drive

Both of us have gone with Sandy Bridge rather than the i7 setup.

Don't buy the Alienware keyboard. You can get better Logitech ones for cheaper. G510 for example. And you can even set the colour on Logitech's to the green that Alienware use.

How do you find it with gaming, is there much of a performance increase with the SSD? and I take it the sandy bridge setup yields better results than the i7? Also will my 600w psu be alright with this kind of setup?

That 600w psu should power even the 3GB GTX580 in my spec.

Your PSU would be fine with a single gpu and overclock.

I use the SSD for Windows and common used programs and put the rest including games on another mechanical drive, which I may later update to a SSD.
