Great conversation with a Ford service "manager"

Was the fault with the key fob that the button would stick when you locked/unlocked the car thereby making the ECU think you activated the remote window feature on purpose?

If you hold down one of the fob buttons I imagine the opening of windows is a designed feature.

It's pretty easy to diagnose this as a fault with the fob, likely sticking button.

You have just been bent over by Ford.

So over £300 spent on fixing absolutely nothing and you just walked away and posted about it on the internet after they said they can't refund you for their mistake and even after they admitted that the diagnosis was wrong?

This is why stealers are getting business, by ripping off chumps!

Un-Chump yourself man!

So give us a clue, what was he meant to do?

If he is dealing with the service manager then surely there isn't much higher to go. The post sounds like it's a copy and paste from a complaint letter/email which I can only assume will be to Ford directly.

He would have got no joy arguing his point at the dealer, fine he could kick up a stink but that is sometimes counter productive.

I think he has done the right thing personally.

Doesn't seem like he's sent it to Ford directly as he's not mentioned that at all?

All he's said is he went away feeling ripped off and hasn't done anything since other than searching online and finding this thread.

If you don't kick up a stink then issues remain unsolved...

I expected a much higher level of service from your company, and I am extremely disappointed. Not only have I had to take four days annual leave from my workplace (4 out of the 5 visits) but to worsen matters its clear ive been over charged because of their incompetence.

To be fair he has posted once and finished his post with the above. This is what leads me to believe it's a copy/paste from a complaint letter/email.

This is the dealership which you drop your vehicle off at 8am for them.

Phone them at 3.30pm to find its not been touched and is sat outside still.

Yet its "done" at 3.45pm....

Checked the oil, pitch black after driving it 1 mile to our office. Phoned them up to query it, tried telling me that oil was black out of the bottle. Then how it instantly turns black after being driven.

Company vehicle so I wasn't that bothered, but I marked the oil filter the next couple of services to see if it had been removed or just wiped over.

Use a different garage now that it is out of warranty, and strangly enough the oil remains golden brown for a while after it has been changed!

Terrible garage, certainly wouldn't use them myself.

The Peugeot main daeler weren't any better in my personal experience either, unable to balance their own wheels and call me a liar when I went back.

AFAIK it does turn black in a diseasel engine but not a petrol one.

If you read all my post.

Having had it serviced by a completely different garage, and checking the oil then.

It takes a little while before turning black, it just doesn't happen the instant you turn the key.

I did read all your post. If anyone has had a different experience I'm sure they'll comment but whenever I've done an oil change, on a diesel, and checked the levels before and after running it up to temp it's black almost immediately it's been run, rather than golden brown for "awhile".
I wasn't taking a dig or nuffin bruv, just forgot to add in that the person you spoke to probably didn't even know what fuel your car uses, just to add further to their idiocy ;)

Seems after 3 years Evans Halshaw Preston are still no better as a dealership.

Sad fact is most main dealers are completely incompetent
