Anyone been to Bali?

Still looking for our April holiday and we've come across Bali as a possible destination.

Looking at the Nusa Dua area, has anyone been there? We are after a beach holiday with enough day excursions to stop us from getting bored of sitting around the pool all day.

I had really high expectations from Bali , from all the great reviews etc. online.

Didn't think it was that great, way too touristy, not that much of a bargain and full of aussies.

Why don't you look at somewhere in the Philippines? A lot of nice beaches , and not so touristy.
 
Yeah Bali is full of Aussies, and good for sitting by the pool or lounging about, anything excursion wise is just too touristy. Vietnam/Philippines is a better option I'd say
 
If you go to Bali , you have to and I mean you have to go to Gilli air a small Island with no cars on it. Just friendly people,the diving is breathtaking ,even snorkelling your seeing turtles ,morae ells lobsters and stingrays on a night.

It was arguably the best place a i went to n my 18 months of travelling. Really is a crime if your that way out to go there. if you need any help with it just let me know .

If you do diving and go there look up manta dive gilli air top top outfit
 
I've read that Kuta is full of Aussies which is why I was looking at Nusa Dua for the nicer hotels/beaches and from there was looking at doing some excursions around bali.

How did you get to Gilli air? We are looking to go scuba diving but never been before so won't be able to tackle anything too challenging.
