The original Halo: combat Evolved. Many hours of fun and frustration were had by me and my mates when playing it co-op on Legendary.

Afaik it is as it lets you select a char before each level for each player, i haven't tried co-op mode on it yet though a friend at work has completed it with another and it's about 8h or so long.

Pretty fun game, got it in xmas sales.(part 1 was decent too but no co-op)

Killing Floor - cheap,not complicated, and a complete riot when playing with mates. Also not performance hungry either. There are also loads of fan made levels and mods which extend the life of the game nicely.
