Yea, pretty sure there aren't going to be any triple channel, new revision of the chipset (to fix current problems) is due in the next 2-3 months ish, but if your on about the socket 2011 CPUs, that are out later in the year, they are going to be quad channel I believe.
I thought that one of the moderators on here said when the first Sandybridge came out that there was some new boards coming out in about march/april this year.
Is there some other boards on the way soon then?. I want to start my build but not with the current problems. It wouldnt be so bad, but i have been waiting since November to do the build
There are new boards coming out in the next few months, but as far as I know, the only difference between them, and the boards available at the moment, is that the new ones will have the new revision chipset, which solves the current SATA problem.
I think the OP is thinking of the Z68 boards. These combine the benefits of the P67 and H67 boards. They don't change the RAM support as far as i know. Before that we should have P67 and H67 boards with revised chipsets that don't have the SATA bug.
Ah, misread your post as X58 & LGA 1366, after a little searching (not sure I had come across 1356 before) it seems it is meant to be a triple channel SB board... Seems stupid that Intel are going to have 3 difference CPU sockets for different SB chips...
