Applied for voluntarty redundancy, got declined, got promotion instead! Result.

Also asked to go oncall/pager as well - that's another few grand a year.

Hmm, Chinese or Indian tonight to celebrate?

Yup - said the application was a suprise and when asked for my reasons I said my role was unfulfilling (been doing it for four years). Plus I might as well stay home and look after the kids and seek better employment once they'd all gone to school in three years as I'm paying through the nose for child care.

They replied they didn't want to lose me (11 years with the company), engineered a promotion and got me some on call to help out with child care costs.

My employer are **** but my immidiate management chain are pretty decent :-)
 
Wohoo Drinks on AmigaFan2003 , Whats your address so we can all pile around for the free drinks? I also imagine you will have a little buffet on for us .. or should we eat before we come? Looks like my Friday night is sorted.
