People who don't know it's their right of way at mini roundabouts.

Not just on a roundabout...anywhere. Is it really hard to signal? Around here even the police don't use them.

Where else would it make you annoyed? If your sitting at a t-junc, you shouldn't be pulling out until they have turned into the road anyway.

Only other time I can see it being annoying is when someone slows for (what seems to be) no reason, then pulling off somewhere. Also if they are of a motorway/dual carriage way, and they change lanes without indicating.

I tend to close my eyes at roundabouts and just floor it.

Lol.

Don't be stupid. His report would have said 'I put my hand up to instruct the driver to stop and then he hit me'.

Of course I would have stopped if I indeed had hit him, but I bet I would be getting the blame!

Doubtful.

Scenario: If you were hit from behind, the blame pretty much falls on the person that hit you.

Likewise, if you hit the offside of someone's car (especially if it was the front half) when entering a roundabout, the blame usually falls on the person you hit as they have entered a roundabout without ensuring it was safe to do so.

They could argue that you drove at an excessive speed on entering the roundabout but an examination to the damage of both cars could determine your actual speed was safe.

Americans and 'traffic circles' are always a source of entertainment and anxiety :p

Why? there are roundabouts in the US. They are called "Rotaries".

I normally find that people just don't understand the highway code full stop.

Personally, if you hesitate, I'm gone......you can sit there all day if you like.

Had one the other night, approaching a 3 mini roundabout and the one chap there to my right is sitting there looking at me. I initially stop as does the guy to the left of me arriving at the same time.

We stare at Mr Nervous for a while (I can only assume he was busy wetting his pants or something), after a couple of seconds I got bored and hoofed it.

Anyone who's too scared to take their own right of way should either be shot or given steroid injections.

For some reason people just don't understand mini roundabouts.

Got hooted/shouted at the other day at one. Slowed down towards the roundabout to let the guy to my right go, he hesitated and pretty much stopped, so I went then he decided to go when I was half way across

A lot of the time when going straight across them I will just drive straight over them (if it's one of those flat painted ones) as everyone seems to hesitate regardless and look at each other wondering who's going to go first, everyone just looks confused at that point.

I find it more annoying (and dangerous) when people just go over them at the normal speed, when one or more entrances are blind or partially blind. Are they waiting to be T-boned?

I did see that in that video. A few times I thought for sure there was going to be a t-bone or a someone on a bicycle was going to go flying.

Most of the small roundabouts (mini and not so mini) near me 'give way to right' doesn't seem to apply as I've nearly ploughed into loads of cars or had them nearly plough into my side because I've entered the roundabout first and they decide that they have right of way. :/

Except he pulled out in front of me. I would have t-boned him. He put his hand up in his driver's side window to wave 'sorry'.

That's what I said. You would have hit his offside (drivers side) which would indicate that he entered a roundabout without ensuring it was safe to do so ergo, his fault and hard to prove otherwise....

Except he's a copper and he put his hand up... ;)

Even a copper would have a hard time proving that he placed his car in your path and indicated for you to stop especially in that road position.

Sometimes i stop at the round about KNOWING it's my right of way mainly because i don't take chances on some other muppet not knowing right side has priority and just going for it.

I think it's just good practice, though i will agree that i will stop then after 3 secs or so move on as to not clog up traffic behind. Some people just forget how to drive when they come up a round about.
