Desire HD, no PC USB options charge only!

Hey guys i have a very strange problem.

My DHD has worked since launch perfect but For some reason now when i connect my phone to PC it charges but does not give me any options for disk drive.

I have tried several USB cables (including official) and several USB ports and none of them work, i have also tried reseting the phone taking out battery sim and SD card several times , nothing works

i have also checked the setting and the notify me is ticked for USB options.

Any idea?

Do you still have the option in the notification bar - you can press on this to change modes. Try another pc and see if it still does it maybe?

Tried a different computer? Any task killers that run on boot? Try selecting a different default connection type? (to see if it triggers 'Ask me')

Or maybe? Settings > SD + phone storage > Unmount SD card then Mount it again.

i reckon its probably something to do with the SD card. My last resort is to format the SD card

ok tried it on another PC and it went into disk mode.

I wonder why my PC wont show it? any ideas on the next step?
