Which company would you go along with that has a good price, servers and service? - I have been looking around as I have not purchased one in a while and seeing what people recommend. When I say a match server, it will be a Counter Strike: Source one. :)

I have always had great, and i do mean great service from GTX Gaming. http://www.gtxgaming.co.uk/
Was very dissapointed with the decision for Black Ops to be restricted to one game server supplier as the only business my clan gives GTX right now is for our TeamSpeak server, though as and when we move on to whatever game next we will use GTX without hesitation.

inx gaming sponser gamingscotland.com and there prices seem very reasonable with first class support.

i am currently getting a l4d2 server quote from simon at inx and so far so good....

I have heard good things about INX, problem is their packages offer too much, all I need is a Server and Teamspeak 3, they offer all webspace and all that which I don't really need. :p

Can I generate my own package with them?

Official OcUK servers coming up 5UB :D?

Nah, this will be for my team, I have thought about it though. Depends how good the server company is that we go with. :D

Ah cool. There should be an OcUK team :(

We could set up an LTUK vs OcUK "clan" match at some point for the acheivement if we had enough interest. Just set one steam group as ur primary, other team set the other one, and away we go.

I do have a server lying around if you want to use it at some point. 5UB has used it before...

@ 5UB: I used INX inb the past, technical support was brilliant, but I only found that out as I always had to use it all the time as the servers kept going down (hardware fault or something else I had no control over. They aren't cheap either.

GTX Gaming are worth looking at as you can get a good deal with them. They are good at support and don't go wrong too often either, unfortunately ftp app support is terrible, making it more difficult to upload files to them.

Finally there is Gameservers.com. Technical support is not quite as quick as the other two but they have good prices, 3rd party support and are reasonable stable compared to INX. You also don't have to pay to remove their branding.

Oh yeh there are Multiplay, but you have to pay for unbranding and they are comparatively expensive compared to Gameservers.com and GTX Gaming (like INX). Their 3rd party app support is odd as well, but they were the most stable I have used.

Pick the one you like the sound of the most. For me it would be a toss up between Multiplay and Gameservers.com. :)

Having trouble sorting the sourcemod so I have admin... Apart from that it is great. Not used sourcemod before. :p

http://wiki.alliedmods.net/Adding_Admins_(SourceMod)#Simple_Admins

Easiest way is to just edit your simple_admins.ini in clanforge.

For yourself just whack in:

"STEAM_0:1:000000" "99:z"

With your own Steam ID obviously, and you'll have full admin (z is full admin, 99 is highest immunity, you might want something like "abcdef" for general kick/ban/change map/ fun stuff for other people).

Then you'll need to reboot the server I think (when you add new admins you can do it from the admin menu).

Then you just need to type in "sm_admin" into the in game console and away you go.

It's been a while, so this might not be exactly right. Any more Qs and I'll do my best to remember. :p
