What I mean by this is there always seems to be problems no matter how stable your rig is, no matter how well you put it together, some day theres gonna be a time where you turn it on and it just doesn't work,. Weather the problems minor like an error popping up when you open window or serving major like not even being able to boot at all.

There never seems to be a time in any computers career where it just works, wake up, turn on your system and play a game. Even If that's all you do, problems just occur through no fault your own, and I guess this is setting that we have to deal with, machines are not perfect and they will have problems from to time..but has there ever been anyone who hasn't had any problems and your system just works way up to the point where you need to upgrade due to increase in demand for games?

Thanks guys, just curious sorry for spelling errors if there is any, typing this whilst in a coffee shop with the mrs over a fruit cooler.

I second that, I think I have had one system where is just would not work - so I fixed it and had a years worth of hassle free computing. You are definitely have some degree of bad luck.

Lol. My system is fine, running like a dream infact. I was just starting up a discussion.

Problems can just randomly pop up.

I've had 2 hdd die on me unexpectedly rather was just bad luck, used true image to clone boot drive to new hdd best be prepared if problems arise

My PC has always worked as soon as I switch it on except for when I'm overclocking too much.

If they dont then there is something wrong, but this isnt meant to be anywhere near as common as the OP thinks it is.

Yep. It's called an Apple Mac. Still rocking the same user profile it created when I got my first MBP back in 2006, and it's now on it's third machine. Migration Assistant is a wonderful thing.

/dons flame suit.

That said my last couple of self-built rigs have been pretty reliable. Ye Olde P4 heap is still running a 2004 installation of XP, although MSE died last week when it applied an update. It's usually dodgy drivers and half arsed application updates that cause issues, as long as the users dont' tinker where they shouldn't.

Occasionally my SSD removes itself from the boot order, meaning the computer doesn't start. Everything else has just worked.

That could be a bios issue, have you manually set the priority of your hard drives to detect the SSD first?

If so then you might want to update your bios, the boot order shouldnt randomly change to something other than what you specify.

Never had a computer to date that hasn't had a major issue, but never not had a pre-built PC to date - so that's the answer to the problem really xD

All the Pc's I have had have always been fine and ' just worked '. Only time one has not worked was when a psu died on me. Sounds like you are unlucky with your pcs :-(

The only real issue I've ever had with a PC is an intermittent Tagan PSU - Ironically, the only time I've spent a lot of money on a PSU, none of my mid-range ones have ever failed.

Other than that, I've never had a single failed component in around 14 years of owning PCs and 10 years of building them myself.

I had a Hiper 580 watt PSU that went out with a bang and lots of smoke =D

Way back when OCUK had a faulty batch. I replaced it with a pricier Tagan and I've never had a problem since with a Tagan 580w, OCZ 780w, and Tagan 1100w.
