I wonder guys is it worth to go for SLI?I can buy MSI gtx570 OC edition for £151 - brand new.
The problem is that I'm not playing a lot and only in 1680x1050.For now there is only two games that killing my card - Metro and Crysis, not sure about Crysis 2 but IMO it will be another killer for graphics cards.
What do you reckon is SLI will be necessary for near future games?

I doubt you will find many people recommending SLI for that resolution, you might find its your video ram causing problems on metro as i've heard it uses quite a lot.

don't get me wrong, I can play Metro on v.high with physx and tescalation ON except DOF but Max I can Get is 30 odd FPS.
I may change Monitor for full HD soon, also using 3D vision, not often but sometimes.
I don't want to trew my money, if you will say SLI is waste of money, I wont go for that

I use GTX470 SLI for that resolution... but its a 120Hz panel (makes quite a difference for multiplayer fps)... and tbh even 1 card rarely struggles - but it does mean I can go nuts with the AA.

Whether or not you'd use it yourself, isn't that just an offer that is too good to resist? Buy it and sell it?

I'd buy a bigger monitor first, you will be able to enjoy all your games more so than you do now.

SLI in anycase is good for 3D as it has to render 2 frames at once (one for the right eye and one for the left), when 3D is enabled it will half your fps because of this. Using SLI doubles it as it will process one frame per GPU. If your getting the slowdown when 3D is on and its fine when off then SLI would be the way to go.

Ok thanks guys, will buy new Monitor first.I have already bought it :) Benq 24" 120Hz LED Monitor

Good choice of monitor, I recently got one of these too :D
