I had made my mind up to order the Asus P8P67 Intel P67 (Socket 1155) DDR3 Motherboard but having had quite a few folks tell me they have had problems with the board im now getting cold feet. Would the Gigabyte P67A-UD4 Intel P67 (Socket 1155) DDR3 Motherboard be a better/safer bet? Im not a gamer and wont overclock but I do want reliability like everyone I guess.

With regard to the Asus. People tend to only post if they have issues so for each poster with issues there are many without. Also most people having issues are overclocking and so are more likely to have problems.

I've had very few issues with mine - overclocked it in the first week to see what the CPU could do and now its back running at stock speeds with the stock fan.

I can't comment on the gigabyte board having not tried it or read many threads.

I always seem to alternate between Asus and Gigabyte. My Q6600 system has an Asus mobo, but my Sandybridge setup has GB one (UD4). Just depends on price, reviews, and availability at the time of buying for what brand out of the two I choose. All the threads on here about the P8P67 did put me off going for Asus this time, but I will still consider an Asus mobo when I move on from Sandybridge.

ive got an Asus P8P67, & once i flashed off the shipping BIOS ive had zero issues with the thing. all the issues folks where having with there boards didn't bother me, i expected that as it's allways the same with a new socket & chipset, the BIOS's take a while to mature for the boards to settle down.

Gigabyte for me, their boards just look amazing (P67 boards only with the matt black PCB, their other ones are damn ugly)
