log story short i went to pull my g11 keyboard out of the front usb and it has snapped the usb end thingy of and bent 1 of the usb slots at the front of my case.

what should i do abut this with logitech ?

Send the customer support an email about it and then they will tell you what to do and they might even give you a new keyboard.

right i have sent them a question in the support section by email
think this will get me a replacement?
hi, i was recently unplugging my g11 keyboard from the usb o the front of my case, but as i was leaning over to it at a funny angle, the usb dongle bit on the end bent and came out of the wire bit. it has also bent the usb at the front of my case making it unusable, i have attached a picture showing the damage to the keyboard. would it be possible to get some form of replacement? as i am currently stuck with an advent keyboard, and as i am on my computer mostly at night i cannot see what i am typing very well. any help would be much appreciated.

thank you
alex

I dont think you will get a replacement tbh, as its your own fault the USB part broke, they may however offer you a discount on something from the logitech store. Hope you get some good news though, as logitech are known for their good customer service :D

Not meaning to rain on the situation... But it sounds like the problem was your own fault (leaning over to it at a funny angle (that could cause adverse pressure) that caused the USB connector to bend in the USB port (damaging the USB port in the process) and the USB connector to separate from the cable (if I've read the email you sent right)), rather than a fault of the product.

Logitech CS is second to none. I spilt beer for the second time over my G15 v1.

After a botched attempt to strip it and try and clean it was clear that certain keys were gubbed and another keyboard was needing to be purchased.

However reading on here about their great customer service, I decided to make a chance phone call pretending to enquire about a repair and its costs. Before I knew it they were arranging a brand new G15v2 to be sent out the following day without cost and that was with a keyboard out of warranty.

I'm not saying this will happen to you but I would definitely pick up the phone to them and see what happens!.

Chris

personally from my understanding of the email, it sounds like you are admitting fault, so surely any warrenty would then be void.
if however logitech do have great CS, then you might get lucky, i would say more likely to get vouchers than new keyboard though.

Sometimes it comes across as overly generous, but then you realise that suddenly they're getting recommendations based just on the customer service (although the kit's good too) - and then people start buying all their peripherals from Logitech. I wouldn't touch anyone else for a keyboard/mouse now, and their quality got them webcam and headphone purchases off me on top of the keyboard and mouse, all for the cost to them of some replacement glide feet, so it makes sense.

Be prepared to show some form of proof of purchase, they seemed mighty fussy when I tried to get a Logitech keyboard replaced that decided to not work. I told them I got it from Ebay brand new, and they refused to help me. Didn't seem that friendly either to be honest.
