OK it been a very long time since I've played with RAM and I'm building a new PC at the end of the month.

I'm looking for a 2x4GB DDR3 set for the Crosshair IV but I'm overwhelmed by the choices  I know the Corsair Dominator was recommended by Asus but they don't come in 2x4GB set so I was looking at Corsair Vengeance.

I don't much about G.skill/Patriot ram are they compatible with the board?

if i had the choice like you mate, I'd get the ripjaws aswell.
A little bit of tweaking will probably be required to get them working right but it will be worth it in the end.

Im still using Crosshair FIV and run 4x2GB OCZ "AMD Black Edition" DDR3-1600 that pretty good run all way and it prefect run without problems and it also recommend by Asus in the online manual.. I got from other online at good prices... happy with it.

Just bought myself the Crosshair FIV and also those G.Skill RipJaws X 8GB (2x4GB) as linked to above (RAM arrives from OCUK on Tuesday hopefully) so I'm hoping that it all plays nicely together as well :D

Mine should arrive Tuesday as well but I won't be able to build the PC till next week so can you let me know how it goes :-)

Hi Alphawao,

Got my ram today as DPD decided they couldn't be bothered to deliver yesterday! Anyway, good news and bad (for me at least) Bad news is that 1 of the 2 sticks was DOA, so I'm arranging an RMA as we speak, good news is that the other stick worked fine with the Crosshair IV Formula.

My new build with Win 7, 1090t cpu & the Crosshair IV Formula mobo feels very snappy, can't wait to add an SSD at some point :D

Thanks for the input space, sorry to hear about the DOA stick, funny thing is DPD didn't deliver on tues 22nd either, I found the sorry we missed you card but I didn't even hear my door bell or a knock on the door and I was in the kitchen, I think the driver couldn't be bothered....but it arrived the next day

OK cool thanks for the update, I've had to delay my build till next week as I'll have more time, I've also got my eye on the Vortex 3 SSD.
