Geneva Motor Show 2011

I went in 2009, did a 24 hours flight, hotel, show and flight home type trip. We managed to get in the show for midday and didn't leave till closing at 8pm to make the most of it.

Was certainly worth it, but there is much more to see than you can fit in over one day. We had 8 hours and there and could have done with that again easily.

Went last year, flew out on Friday lunch time, did show all Saturday (we were there from doors opening at 8am to close at 7pm!) and then flew home Sunday morning, great show, so much to see and lovely city to visit too.

Got a package via the motorshow website which gave us hotel, entrance to the show and a city travelpass.

Went in 2009 and spent the first day doing the motorshow then the next day in geneva (it's expensive but lovely) I'd 100% recommend it. I spent a lot of time on the Alfa stand but that was mainly due to the girls....

Am off on March 11th, was brilliant last year did it over 3 days (1 day at the show others doing other things) although doing it in 1 day this year. Well worth doing, think it cost us about £80 each including flights.

Did it last year in one hectic day.

Try and get v.early flights in, then an early evening one out.

One word of warning is that it's very hot in there. Try and dump your jacket somewhere, you'll be sweltering otherwise!

It seems there are going to be a lot of plug-in and hybrid tech launches this year as well as a good load of premiers, seen advanced launch news (public news) from a whole sleugh of manufacturers at work, just got to persuade tehm to accidentally book me to go there rather than Hungary...

first stuff is starting to appear now

Toyota reviving the celica brand?

new skoda concept looks to be taking a different route to distance themself from VW..looking more angular with strong edges

new A3 saloon looks nice in the metal, looks better proportioned than the now lardy looking A4

ooh are you there?

go and ask the skoda man if they will be doing another Vrs version when they do the next octavia?

I'm camped at Skoda - but a little busy at the moment. I'll be around the show tomorrow though, free, if anyone wants any questions asked or specific pictures. I'll give them a shout when I get a while to myself!
