Films you would like remade?

I am sat here watching Indiana Jones - Raiders of the Lost Ark. I am wishing they would remake some of these old films, or at the very least digitally re-master them in HD, things like Mad Max and the original Star Wars films.

I am only 20, but these are absolutely amazing films that EVERYONE should watch, and if they were re-released in HD I think people would buy them.

Any films you would like remade or re-mastered in HD?
 
I must be getting old as I don't consider Raiders of the Lost Ark or Mad Max old films :(

Remakes of classics tend to be inferior so I'd like to see remakes of **** films.

Revenge of the Sith

All done with new scripts that have no involvement by George Lucas.

Remade or re-mastered are different things. :p

The trouble is when they are worthy of being remade then it's unlikely that in the age of 'sit and dribble out the corner of our mouths' films any company will want to take a risk with it. Sad, but that's just the way it is now. Steady easy film with predictable storyline.

Because of how tepid our scripts can be these days it wouldn't do the original film justice to have it redone poorly. Not everybody may like it, and the companies won't want the press from those who have seen the original and are negatively comparing the two.

Plus also, remastering aside sometimes classics should just be left the way they are. I'm not a huge fan of black and white films but one that's just utterly brilliant is 12 Angry Men. I wouldn't want that redone because I imagine whoever the cast is they'd get it wrong.

However if they are going to redo films, then stick with the script as much as possible and redo science fiction ones. I'm sure we're due a Godzilla or Planet of the Apes (I think...) for example...
 
Talking with my son the other day whilst watching Robocop and near the end of the film as events unfold Clarence Bodiker drives his 6000SUX whilst being chased by officer Lewis in a squad car. There is an absolute perfect shot of a hub cap flying off the Bodiker car towards the camera, a total fluke shot tbh and we got talking about if they ever remade this movie they would spend millions on cgi'ing that stupid hubcap and then get all boasty about it lol :rolleyes:

Remakes suck end of!
Remastered would be brilliant :)

I'm pretty sure it was remade for US TV in the 70s or 80s and was practically a word for word copy.

Edit: Oops, 90s!
