Anyone watch this tonight?
It was a typical Ross Kemp affair but hyped up to about 11. Probably one of the most extreme eps iv seen him do - not sure iv ever seen people physically getting jacked up and then od'ing in any tv programme before! i didnt even think that could be shown on tv?

In short for those that missed it ( im sure it will be on anytime) - it was about Chicago and the drug wars.

really good watch if mega depressing.

It is very raw - You see many users of heroin trying to shoot up into dried up veins; repeatedly stabbing themselves to find a vein which is good to shoot into.

Very raw and I agree that I think this is a first to show close up injecting drugs and OD'ing on TV.

A good watch but I felt disappointed with the whole closing of it all.. the advertisements if I remember correctly claimed that Chicago was more dangerous than Afghanistan. Yet there was no connection at all to the advertisement....

Loved ross kemp in afghansitan and the return to afghanistan one he did. Gonna make sure I see this, got the ross kemp gangs dvd's aswell.
I suppose he's got to push the boundries a little more each time to keep it extreme.

I'm not sure what the point of this programme was - it didn't tell us anything we didn't already know from watching The Wire; The heroin trade is controlled by some shady characters at the top, young blacks on the street and life as a heroin addict is a pretty desperate affair. Watching them trying to inject themselves made me feel ill :(

The advertisements was for the whole series, the comment about being more dangerous than Afghanistan applies to another episode - Mexico I would imagine.

This is nothing i dont see or hear of daily.... you guys would be supprised how much of a problem this drug is!!

I'm in work so can post the link, but google : SWANSEA LOVE STORY !!

People will **** it off, but trust me this is going to be the worlds next biggest problem!!

I agree with that... I'd have much prefer to know how the drug physically effects the body rather than watching people jacking up, he offered no explination or anything.... Show was very very poor and left me thinking Wot Da Fudge!

The latest episode in the Congo was quite interesting and eye-opening.

"eye opening"? You aint kidding.

I can't believe they make the fathers rape their own children over there. What the hell. .. and sticking hot plastic up and stabbing female genitalia. What the hell.

What happened to happy tv? :(

The second episode i couldnt watch all of it in one go i felt sick just listening to the storys the women were telling :( shouldnt the UN and NATO be stepping it up over there instead of sticking its nose in on Libya and the middle east ......... oh wait theres no oil in the congo

i had to stop watching after 15 mins , i mean WTF...

really, that is the sickest of people to do that and i found it very disturbing to think that one human can do that to another

Did you see the part with the women that had both her hands chopped off while being raped? She admitted to trying to commit suicide a few times after it happened. All she had was stumps at her wrists. Was messed up.

The most messed up bit was when the guy was talking about kids as young as 3 getting raped and their insides exploding. wtf. I'm pretty sure someone said they made people cut off their own willys as well.

christ.

thats not the aim of his shows...theres a hundred other shows out there that offer this research, ross is more about the people and the affects a situation causes on communities - which he more than adequately showed in the first ep. it was pretty clear what happens when you take the drug as they clearly demonstrated at the start of the episode.

the congo episode was rough viewing , but defaintly interesting - its just a shame people have to go to such extreme lengths to destroy others lifes for the sake of a rather stupid war.

NATO don't operate in Africa (NATO is/was a transatlantic cold war security alliance) and the biggest UN force every deployed is in the DRC.

Didnt catch that part as I only saw the last 30 mins of it. Truly sad though.

Its crap like that which makes me wonder why no one has gone in to stop this kind of thing!

Again... 16,000 UN troops with MONUC (now MONUSCO) at its height. It's impossible to make a dent in a country the size of Western Europe with less than hundres of thousands of troops.

Yeah, but they wont do anything.

UN are even thinking about taking their troops out of there .

The doctor on the congo episode made a very good point. When the madness was kicking off in Bosnia, people didnt just sit back and let it continue... They put an end to it.

Something kicks off in the middle of Africa and its like "Meh"

I don't think he said "meh" but it was a good point he made. :D

Whats the next episode? can't see where they can go from here. Only way down is to look into snuff movies. :/

Chicago apparently?

I need to know whether this is the same Chicago in America.....
