I went one-step better and made a vector of it, this way you can scale it to whatever size you want, I'll email you that if the above is ok. Let me have your address.

if you think it looks to childish

then please go ahead and show me the error of my ways..

if you look at the above link with the logo in situ...i think it looks fine..

would you say the ebay logo looked like clipart...how about facebook?

I don't have problem with the simplicity of it, but it looks like it's more related to sports than office supplies.

Yup, I agree... the motif says sports or activities brand, and the tagline font says "mum's cake sale" so there's a bit of confusion going on there. Also, what's the reasoning on the colours? Are they just there because they stand out? Remember that colours inform perception, and orange is exactly the kind of bright, energetic, healthy colour that doesn't suit office supplies! :)

Think about the sort of people you'll be selling to - think about what they'll expect and what will communicate your brand and image to them best. A pencil motif might be a bit cliché for example, but with the right style and colours it could work quite well.

In addition to what Reflux has said.

What does SBS stand for?
If it does stand for Small Business Supplies then the logo reads Small Business Supplies Business Supplies.

yeah i know about this..originally i had it like

S.B.S
SIMPLE BUSINESS SUPPLIES

but when it was 100x75pixels for the logo on the website the bottom line wasn't clear enough to read

do people really take that much notice?

Subconsciously, yes. That's why brands pay millions upon millions of pounds a year to protect, improve and research nothing but their logo.

Acronym names on the whole are pretty boring and forgettable. Certain brands pull it off but if you can it's best just to avoid it in the first place.

The grey font just looks amateur/not suited to your line of business.

And as said, the man suits more of an active business. And while a rubix cube isn't directly related to office supplies, it does represent things that do - logic, efficiency, problems being solved etc.

i do agree with what you are saying

but i find it very hard to come up with a logo that is just right ..

the reason for the grey font is because if you look at the link above that shows my website header...you can see the text "welcome to...." and i was trying to match that font

thanks
