Asking someone out over facebook...

I can't see a problem.
Just tell her that you regret not getting her phone number so can you have it now to talk to her.
Or post your number.

Yup a simple "Oh **** wish I had asked for your number the other week"

Or "Here's my number, gutted I didn't ask for yours"
 
You could say 'will you be my girlfriend on Facebook' that is, not in real life but only on Facebook. I think that is what the pre-teens are doing these days. And see if that 'works out'.

No, I read the whole the post. It's not as if you never see her. After reading the replies in this thread though, I agree that it would probably be easier to ask for her number next time you see her.
 
Personally, I'd get Facebook open, give her the old A/S/L?? swiftly followed by asking her if she wants to cyber.

If she responds positively you are quids in for your "IRL" meet!

OP I would message her through Facebook, don't add her as a friend then stew on it. Get it out there straight away. She'll admire your balls (not for the last time, hopefully).
 
the risk you run with facepest is that the person can think about it.

sometimes the impulsive response is a more honest one.


you know the look when you ask them and they look at you like oh **** wtf do i do here, thats teh answer right there they don't need to make up any excuses or break it to you nicely.

Facebook will get a softly softly response imo, sometimes even a misleading one providing false hope

but from experience do something doing nothing will never help.
