Buy Bulletstorm from GFW Marketplace get Gears Of War FREE!!

Yeah, and they'll be charging £40 for bulletstorm like they were for Dirt 2 whilst it was a fiver on Steam :D

Wouldn't buy anything off of GFWL marketplace to begin with tbh, that service is a car crash compared to Steam.

I'm going retail for this anyway, I think other online retailers are selling it for about 25 sheets which I can just about manage at the moment.

would have got this but got it from EA Store for £20 with a voucher. Came with a free copy of Shank as well :D (already got it on Steam, not sure if I'll be able to give it away)

What's wrong with GFWL? Login, Install, Patch, Play.

What's wrong with GFWL? Login, Install, Patch, Restart computer, Login again, Download another patch, install patch, restart computer, login again, download ANOTHER patch, install patch, restart computer, login, ragequit, Play something else.
Fixed.

I was quite excited about this game but the initial reviews have killed any intrest I had.

~5 hours game play + quite repetative/dull
No editor as they want more $ from dlcs
GFWL as above =|

I've got no problems with GFWL... I quite like being able to share my achievements because none of my friends are PC gamers. I've also never had to restart after installing an update, or had to update more than once in a row. As with everything Microsoft, their products are always remembered for their first horrible iterations, nobody acknowledges when they improve.

Same here, all this bitching about GFWL and Ive never had a problem with it. As long as my games work when I want it to then I couldnt careless about how bad GFWL is.

That was just an example of my personal experience of GFWL about a month ago. I downloaded the GFWL client, installed Batman AA, launched the game and had to install about 4 GFWL "client updates" (with a full system reboot after each one) and then 2 updates for Batman AA (again, with the reboots after each one). Same thing happened the first time I install B:AA at the time of release, and the same thing happened when I installed Fallout 3 (both on release and about 6 months ago).

That, along with the fact it kept loosing save games for both games is just plain frustrating. The only game I've played that used GFWL that I haven't had any problems with is Resi5 for some reason, and when it works it does its thing without getting in the way all that much, but in my experience it doesn't work that as intended all that often.

I also know people that use it and love it and never have any problems with it so I think in typical Microsoft style it varies from system to system...

In UK this deal will not be live until Friday but its live in the US right now they will email you a serial number for Gears Of War to activate & download via Games On Demand.

So if you want to buy Bulletstorm digitally want until then & you can get GOW free (GOW BTW is a decent solid game on PC with great Co-Op, LIVE Achievements which are unique to PC version & separate to the 360 ones, supports DX10, has 5 chapters exclusive to PC & you also get the level editor included so you can make your own levels!).

Always manually install the newist GFWL client....also BAA had patching issues caused by a corrupt patch being distributed as did Fallout3 which is most likely the cause for you.

You will never lose save games as they are stored on your PC unless you are not signed into GFWL or it drops your connection (which can be caused by our ISP changing your NAT type from Open to Closed. A lot of EU ISP's do this a lot without you knowing anything about it.....) GFWL remembers if you are or not signed in so just sign back into GFWL ingame & your saves will still be as is!

Exactly my experience with it.

There must be something wrong with the game if its already having free games given away with it...

Well, they were giving away Portal with Portal 2 :p

I bought Age of Empires whenever it was 3p or whatever and still can't install the stupid thing so there's no way I'd chance the service for a brand new game.

serious +1 to this, had not a single problem (not even one!) with any of my Games for Windows Live titles, have about five of them, not sure why so many hate it so much? I personally don't like Steam all that much, but its not really a bad thing.

AWPC all you ever seem to do on here is plug GFWL and its games. I'd say you were working for Microsoft, but they were always pretty picky about who they hired :p

Pff, Valve don't count. They give away Portal practically with an account some days.

How is GoW related to this game though? I mean Portal with Portal 2 or Bioshock with Bioshock 2 fair enough... but Bulletstorm and a free GoW?
