Benefits of i5 2400k over x4 955

Assuming I have two systems with the exact same parts except one has a i5 2400k and one has a X4 955 BE, how much difference would I notice in games such as bad company 2.

I'm leaning towards a sb build but the price puts me off a bit.

For £220 I could buy a x4 955 cpu with a £55 mobo, 4gb ddr3 ram and a cooler master 430 case.

For £310 I could buy a i5 2400k, £75 mobo,4gb ddr3 ram and a cooler master 430 case.

Is it really worth it or would I be better to put more money into a graphics card?

No Bad company2, but the 2400 dumps on the AMD 975 cpu at all the other game tests.

The 2400k seems like the best option. Will the sandy bridge cpu/motherboards come down in price any time soon?

I would be willing to wait until december to upgrade.

This is the latest Intel pricing, it looks like the prices will stay as they are for a while.

Have asked this a million times but would the corsair cx 400 be enough to have the i5 2400k and a hd 6850 with small oc?

Just to point out that the 2400 is in fact not a K version, so you wont be able to overclock it.

You can have a plain 2400 running at 3.1GHz or a low power 2400S running at 2.5GHz.

Neither is overclockable and, as Meatloaf said, there is no "K" version of the 2400.

The 2400 cpu with a P67 can be overclocked four speed bins more than the turbo boost maximum.
