Dragon Age 2 - * Official *

Gotta love a bit of Paralysis Explosion, fond memories of accdently catching myself in it and getting beaten to death by something it missed :p

I can't remember my class in DA:O, it was some random mage class with heavy armour, a sword and healing spells. Was awesome though, nothing could kill you.

I just finished the demo.

Graphically I felt it was nothing special. Character models stand out compared to the low quality textured backgrounds during conversations. Although the game looks nothing special I could only get around 40 fps at maxed settings whereas Origins was much smoother.

Gameplay was far too easy although I wasn't expecting otherwise on normal.

** Spoilers **

When Hawke mentions that the Darkspawn could be coming at any moment and then the camera cuts to two darkspawn 'trapped' behind some fire ( Why don't they just move around? ) they seem to dissapear when you are given control. It's silly things like that :(

Also your Mother seems to be invisible to ALL enemies and just runs through them.

It was okay :)

90% done with the download, its going slower now because I also started downloading shogun 2.

Dowloaded and installing, yay :D

Lucky you, mines been bouncing between 150 and 250 for the best part of an hour now. 79% but it'll sitll take about 40 mins, might just go play Hitman :p

Just completed the demo aswell, i agree with Garee was a good game but id say first impressions nothing like dragon age 1.

And yah the mother just sat there and dark spawn ran though her.

I did enjoy it though and the cut scenes and how the characters talk and the plot seems very good. Im gunna def buy it.

I don't like it at all, i've seen better rpg demo's from some lesser known game developers!

Don't like the control scheme, try to pan the camera up with my right mouse and the game thinks i've clicked somewhere. The UI is awful and cheap, was there any effort at all?. At times i've clicked on another portrait to level up via that menu screen and it's gone back to the game. Also why the bloody hell does it pause for 2secs, then loading and a cutscene kicks in. What's even more annoying sometimes it will pause while it goes onto a new cutscene from the previous one, it should be seemless!. How many cutscenes did they have in this demo?, it didn't give the game a chance before another one kicked in

I wont be buying this, extended demo thanks!

This demo gives me the impression of a game that had console gamers in mind, the poor quality control scheme, lackluster ui's and anything else i can think of later!. This is a huge step down from DA

Scroll wheel?, GOOD/OK/EVIL yawn console Derp!

yah the cutscences annoyed / confused the hell out of me when it would stutter then jump to a different angle or completely different person talk.

Well I played the Xbox version this morning as the demo was put up early and eagerly waited for the PC demo. First thing to get out of the way PC version is definitely better!!! As if you guys needed to be told that.
As a big fan of the original I really didn't like the changes this game was facing. It really sounded like its being tailored for the console. Though after finishing the PC demo I really enjoyed it, yeah there are a few niggles which Neil79 above has mentioned. The weird pausing before a cut scene, some of the bugs in the interface and no zooming, I still believe its going be a great game. Combat is vastly superior to the original, story and characters seem great. I still going to buy it.

Agree, the camera controls during combat are abysmal. Also tried to use the right mouse, as it is in many other games etc.

UI is very basic and a long line of abilities will get annoying very quickly.

Graphically, they have overdone the blood spatter again, but tbh, that is a minor niggle in the grand scheme of things.

Camera control was terrible. I also encountered a bug where Hawke wouldn't use a potion even if I furiously clicked on it.
