Anyone got benchmarks for this? im debating to upgrade to a 580 or a 6970 however im not sure if its for the best.

Looking to play Shogun 2 and Crysis 2

They are both good cards more than capable for a good few years/

there is a guide on here on how to flash a 6950 to a 6970 if you think you could do that. Would save you some money. Definitely wouldn't recommend it if you are new to it though.

Personally i would go for a 6970. As i don't think the price difference is justified when measured against the performance.

Can't find benchmarks for xfire 4870x2's atm, should be pretty beefy though. i doubt they are struggling with anything at the moment are they?

Do you mean TWO 4870x2 cards? If so that's pretty hefty and will destroy a single 580 or 6970! Of course the big downside is no DX11 :(

A single 4870x2 is about equal to GTX480.

You're best option might be two unlocked 6950's with flashed shaders and clocks if that's your sort of thing?
