Im looking into buying a camcorder for my trip to Thailand in the summer, preferably I want a model with a high capacity HDD but Memory Cards could also be an option. Must be true 1080p

Im looking to spend around £400

Do you have any recommendations?

Thankyou

I'm looking at getting the higher spec sd900, which is about £700. I did seriously consider the sd600 because it is so much cheaper, and despite not having the 3mos sensor(s), it seems to be a winner.

It does have 3mos on it! 370 is a great deal for me. Il never need 3drecording so the 800 and 900 models are wasted on me. The 700 was around 170 more than the 600 so wasnt worth it for me.

Thanks for the advice, looks like a bargain of a camera. Only slight disadvantage for me is using sdhc cards, should be able to hold 160 minutes at full 1080p on a 32gb card.

I've got the TM900 and sent back the 3D lens - it's naff. Compromised on resolution (less than half remaining) and negligable 3D effect. Either that or I sucked at using it.

I actually prefer the cards over hdd storage. Im going to get two decent class 4 cards (16gb) which should hold aroud 80mins each.

You're right, I was mixing it up with the sd60, I think. £370 is an excellent price.

The 800/900 series also improves on the so-called 'bondi-blue' of the 600/700, although I'm not so sure that this is a massive problem for amateurs like me :) I'm disappointed that they didn't improve on the fan noise, as I will be taking video's of a new born in quiet settings (between anticipated crying episodes!).

I've had a couple of quick play arounds with the new camcorder and to be honest, you really can't hear the fan unless you stick it to your ear. You certainly can't tell on recordings.

One practise, I recordered the TV. My GF couldn't tell I had recorded the TV when playing it back....and that wasn't even on 50p!
