Whats the best 3D TV on the market right now, max I'm willing to spend is £1200.

Is it worth holding out for longer?

For your budget now, it would either be the Panasonic txp42gt20 or the txp42vt20.

Definatly would not buy led or lcd my self due to cross talk, tbh tho, id wait for the new range of Panasonic plasmas to come with faster phosphors and also thx 3d certified panels.

even the 42" gt30 is looking to be about £1600. id love a 55" vt30 but far too expensive to justify these days. i'll have to make to do with my 50pz80b for a few years i think :(

Might have to settle for a ST30 then as that should be closer to the budget. I have a price list at work, just have not had time to look propely.

Crosstalk isn't completely an LED/LCD issue but a side effect of the active system. There are LG passive LED screens that are pretty much immune to crosstalk as they use the same sort of glasses you get in the cinema i.e. polarised so there's no active shutter to contribute to crosstalk, this one for example:-

It's probably what I'd buy or wait for the new LW6500 Cinema 3D one due in a few months. The Panasonic GT20 suffers from a 50hz processing bug and posterization and I wouldn't go near it , also the replacement GT30 is due in a few months so not a good time to be buying a GT20 really. Also for 3D bigger is better, 42" is too small really to appreciate it properly, get as big a screen as you can accomodate basically.

Cheers
Andy

I have a LED Sammy 3D and with the latest firmware the crosstalk is pretty much non existent. Just make sure your tv has been running for at least 30 mins to get best results...

I love it :-)

The problem with passive/polarised 3D screens is it currently has to half the resolution for interlacing the left and right images, doesn't it?

I have the LG LX9900, which I did plenty of research on and is regarded as one of, if not the best LED on the market. The 3D is excellent - I've not yet experienced any crosstalk. It may be out of your budget though.

i have the samsung 50" cost me £900 down from £1400 and i think its amazing. fantastic jump from my 32" LCD

i couldn't recommend it enough. i didn't go for the full package because i already have a ps3 wish acts as my blu ray player :)

You can get an Samsung 50' Plasma 3D set and 3D bluray player for around £1k, are these any good?

This is what got me wondering I'd like to check out a panny but 50" it'd be pretty awesome for the price.

I'm gonna hold out for a while I really wanna play killzone 3 in 3D.

I just got the samsung 680 (50") and for the price i think its excellent. Paid 1k and got 2 glasses and a 3d bluray player. IMO its comparable to last seasons panasonic G's, but is also obviously 3d.

compared to the Pana the Samsung it pants, having seen all the current gen, and the latest offering from Panasonic all in one room, there no doubting Panasonic do 3D better than anyone else.

The only anoyance with the 2011 range is you only get 3D specs with the VT30 models, the rest are sold as 3D ready.
